OSHA 10 Certified Before Every Deployment W-2 Employees — Fully Insured Net 7 Weekly Billing — No Hidden Fees Wake County Local — Workers Who Stay

Why BuildUp Exists

For years, we watched two separate problems in Wake County that are actually one problem.

General Contractors can't find reliable labor. They work with whoever they can get — and it costs them $2–5k per job in re-work, delays, and job site problems.

Workers in our community can't break into skilled trades. No training. No pathway. No one investing in them before they set foot on a job site.

BuildUp is the bridge. We train workers from Wake County communities, certify them OSHA 10, and place them on real jobs with real GCs.

We're not a staffing agency. We're a workforce development company that happens to supply labor.

Right now, we're recruiting our first cohort of workers and hunting for 2–3 pilot GCs willing to shape this with us. If you're in, the upside is significant.

Problem 01
GCs across Wake County are paying premium rates for unreliable labor — workers who don't show, aren't trained, and cost more in rework than they're worth.
Problem 02
Workers in Southeast Raleigh and surrounding communities want pathways into skilled trades but have no structured entry point — no certification, no training, no first job.
The Solution
BuildUp trains workers, certifies them before placement, and supplies them as W-2 employees with full insurance. GCs get reliable crews. Workers get real careers.

A systems architect meets an operations expert who's been in the trenches. That's how you build something that lasts.

Built for This Work.

Tyson Gillis has spent 23 years moving equipment, managing teams, and understanding what reliable operations actually look like from the ground up.

He's managed production teams of 6–10 people, operated across logistics and distribution for two decades, and is currently training in construction — working alongside tradesmen in masonry and carpentry on active Wake County job sites.

He's not a distant executive. He's on the tools. When we train our first cohort of workers, Tyson trains too. His OSHA 10 certification is in progress — right alongside the workers we're recruiting.

That's intentional. You don't build a crew-based company from a conference room.

What We Live By.

These aren't aspirations. They're the rules we hire by, the standards we hold ourselves to, and the things we'd walk away from a deal to protect.

01
Show Up

Reliability is the foundation of everything we build. We show up on time, prepared, and ready to work — physically and mentally. A crew that doesn't show up is not a crew. This applies to workers, staff, and leadership in every commitment we make.

02
Built, Not Given

We earn everything through work, training, and performance. No shortcuts — for workers, for clients, or for ourselves. Dignity means doing the work. Advancement is earned, not assumed. We train before we place and prove before we promote.

03
Straight Talk

We say what we mean and mean what we say — to GC clients, to workers, to each other. If there's a problem, we name it, own it, and fix it before anyone has to ask. No sugarcoating. No doublespeak. Straight talk is respect in action.

04
Community Is the Strategy

We don't serve the community as charity. We are the community — and that's our competitive advantage. Local workers stay longer, refer others, and build loyalty no outside agency can manufacture. Investing in our community is how we win, not the cost of winning.

Our Progress — July 2026

We're building this in public. No inflated numbers. No vanity metrics.
